onX for Business licenses are designed for organizations and professionals who use onX as part of their work. Each license is assigned to a specific user and is managed through the onX Admin Console.
This article explains how users, devices, and account access work within a Business account.
Users
Each Business license is assigned to one individual user. This means every person using onX for work should have their own account and login.
Admins can add or remove users at any time through the Admin Console. Licenses can also be reassigned if team members change roles or leave the organization.
Each user account allows the individual to:
Sign in to the onX app
Access the licenses assigned to them
Save their own waypoints, tracks, and data
Sync their information across devices
Keeping accounts assigned to individual users ensures that work data is properly saved and managed.
Devices
A single user can sign in to their onX account on multiple devices. This can include combinations such as:
Mobile phone
Tablet
Desktop computer
All information saved to the account will sync across devices as long as the user is signed into the same account.
For example, a user may plan work in the Web Map on a computer and then access the same information in the mobile app while in the field.
Sharing Content
Business accounts are intended for individual user access to their licensed app, but onX includes several built-in tools that make it easy to share information with other team members when needed.
These features allow users to collaborate and distribute mapping information without sharing login credentials.
Sharing options include:
Sharing individual markups such as waypoints, lines, tracks, or areas through a shareable link
Sharing groups of content by organizing markups into folders and sharing those folders
Collaborating with teams using Collaborative Folders to allow multiple users to view and contribute content
You can learn more about sharing markups here:

onX also allows you to move data between mapping platforms by importing and exporting files. Markups can be exported as GPX or KML files, which allows you to store, transfer, or use your data in other mapping tools.

Managing Users
Admins can manage licenses and users through the onX Admin Console, where they can:
Add new users
Remove users
Transfer licenses to another employee
Control which apps each user has access to
Because licenses are transferable, organizations can move licenses between employees as needed without purchasing additional subscriptions.
